New Leadership for YWCA Clark County

YWCA Clark County is thrilled to announce that Brittini Lasseigne will begin serving as Executive Director on October 4. Brittini’s nearly 20 years in nonprofit work include a history with YWCA that began 17 years ago. Her first role at the Y was with our Independent Living Skills program, which connects foster youth with housing and self-sufficiency skills as they exit the foster-care system.Brittini has been a steady champion of our work from the beginning and she joins us at a time when our mission to empower women and eliminate racism has never been more critical. Lasseigne states, “YWCA Clark County taught me that nonprofits can live and breathe their mission and values within programs, staff, and connection to the broader community. They empowered me as a woman of color and invested in my growth as a leader within the organization and within the community.”

‘An innovator and advocate’

We are grateful to welcome an Executive Director with lived experiences that connect to YWCA Clark County services. Brittini looks forward to raising visibility to ensure everyone in Southwest Washington recognizes YWCA as a safe place for intervention and prevention programming.Throughout her career, Brittini has demonstrated engagement around supporting staff and facilitating an organizational culture of appreciation. Her current community involvement includes serving as Vice President of the Alumni Board at Clark College Foundation and co-founding the SW Washington Development Professionals group, where she has led development professionals in the region toward greater collaboration and professional opportunities.Her recent leadership roles include serving on YWCA’s Executive Leadership Team as Director of Philanthropy (2017-2021) and serving as Chief Marketing and Development Officer with Columbia River Mental Health Services (2021-2022). Earlier in her career she served as Program Coordinator with the MLK, Jr. Outreach Center and the African American Health Coalition, and as Director of Fundraising and Communications with Innovative Housing, Inc.Lasseigne is looking forward to using her skillset in support of the Y’s current programming, as well as working towards investing in our new prevention program designed to educate youth about healthy, respectful, nonviolent relationships.

Board President Kristi Criswell is thrilled to welcome a leader with a long history with the organization and deep ties in the community.“Our Board of Directors was unanimous in the decision to hire Brittini based on her deep commitment to our mission and her excellent track record with resource development, community partnerships, racial equity, and staff and board relations.”Communities of color are impacted at higher rates by domestic violence and sexual assault. The board is especially enthusiastic about Brittini’s vision for continuing to centralize racial equity in all YWCA work, strengthening relationships with our community partners, and having a greater impact in both Clark County and SW Washington.
