SHINE is about the important, life-saving work taking place everyday at YWCA Clark County

Liliana endured years of fear, isolation, and threats against her life, control over her behaviors, and isolation from family. She tried leaving this man several times before, but he found her in three different states. Liliana risked ending up in the hospital or homeless with her baby girl if she left. She connected with YWCA Clark County, utilized support, legal advocacy, a temporary shelter stay, and exited into safe housing.

— SafeChoice

Lauren was in crisis when she arrived at the hospital to get a kit done. Her nurse called YWCA Clark County to have a sexual assault advocate be with Lauren during this invasive procedure. Though the kit was still difficult, Lauren felt more calm and respected with the advocate there. This was just the beginning of Lauren’s healing journey but now she had the support and resources to follow her own path.

— Sexual Assault

Through our Prevention Program, 14-year-old Logan and his peers learned to hold each other accountable, transforming their behavior and understanding of respect. Logan even shared how he discussed consent with his girlfriend before a kiss, a powerful step toward building safer relationships.
