COVID-19: Feeling isolated? You can still help us stop domestic violence.
How you help stop domestic violence, even with COVID-19
Dear YWCA Community,
The lives and safety of women and children in our community is at stake. With the pressure and rise of violence due to stress from COVID-19, we need your help more than ever before. Here’s one example of what’s occurring in Clark County. Deranda is the mom of two children and her husband is laid off because of the virus. Due to school being closed, all four of them are now at home all day. Deranda’s husband suffers from mental health issues and violence in the home has increased over the last couple weeks. She called today saying she wants to leave and needs help with filing a protection order and removing a firearm from the home. Deranda does not have the ability to navigate the legal system to help her family remain safe. Will you please make an urgent gift today of $100, or as much as you can give right now, to protect victims from their abusers?
