You Can Help in Empowering Families

For over 100 years, YWCA Clark County has delivered essential services to our community. The SafeChoice Domestic Violence Program, a vital component of this support system, provides free support services, such as support groups and advocacy sessions, to assist people who have endured verbal, emotional, financial, or physical abuse.

Our commitment is to ensure everyone has access to assistance when they need it most.

A Place for Children to Heal and Grow

While parents attend support group meetings, their children are welcomed into a nurturing environment filled with games and activities, all under the umbrella of trauma-informed child care. This safe space is more than just a temporary retreat; it’s a place where children engage, learn, and grow, even amidst challenging family situations.

To enrich these environments further, we recognize the importance of providing healthy snacks and engaging sensory toys for these children. Nutritious food contributes to their physical well-being, while sensory toys support their emotional and cognitive development, which is especially beneficial for children who were exposed to trauma.

How You Can Help

We need your support. We are appealing to the community and local food and toy stores to kindly contribute nutritious foods and sensory toys. Your generous contributions have the power to impact the lives of these children, offering them comfort and engagement during a critical time in their lives.

Donations can include a wide range of items:

  • Healthy snacks and foods that are easy to store and serve.

  • Sensory toys that help develop their motor skills, and provide a calming effect for children who may be experiencing anxiety or stress.

Your Contributions Matter: Beyond Traditional Donations

We understand that support comes in many forms. While donations of healthy foods and sensory toys are invaluable and needed now, we also recognize the power of diverse resources and services in empowering survivors and their families. We would love to connect with you if you have other types of donations or services you'd like to discuss partnering with YWCA Clark County.

We are open to collaborations that could include, but are not limited to:

  • Transportation Services: To assist survivors in attending appointments, support groups, or legal proceedings.

  • Medical Services: To provide survivors with essential health care and wellness support for survivors and their children.

  • Financial Planning Services: To empower survivors with the knowledge and tools to regain financial stability and independence.

  • Enrichment Services: To focus on children's education, including tutoring services, homework assistance, and educational outings to stimulate intellectual growth and curiosity.

  • Tailored Educational Services: covering topics such as parenting skills, child development, and conflict resolution, aimed at empowering survivors and advocates with valuable knowledge and resources.

Your Unique Contribution

Your unique offering could be the key that unlocks new doors for those we serve. Whether it's a service, skill, or resource, your partnership can impact the lives of those affected by domestic violence.
