Message from the CEO, 2024 Election Results
In light of the presidential election results, we reflect on the historic significance of witnessing Vice President Kamala Harris—a Black and South Asian American woman—break barriers by running for the nation’s highest office. Her candidacy marks a powerful moment in our history, a moment when young girls, especially girls of color, can look to our nation’s leadership and see possibility. She has paved a new path that exemplifies our mission to empower and uplift women, laying a foundation that will inspire generations to come.
This election’s outcome may bring a range of emotions to our community. In times like these, it’s essential to take a moment to care for ourselves. Feel what you need to feel, gather strength, and remember that we are a community rooted in resilience. For over a century, we have been doing the challenging work of eliminating racism, empowering women, and standing together.
Today, we rest. Tomorrow, our work continues with a renewed dedication to the future we’re building—one of strength, equity, and unwavering solidarity.
